Strathlene Holiday Park

OUR LOCATION

Strathlene Holiday Park is located on the A96 which is part of the North Coast 250 in Banffshire on the Moray Coast. There is a bus stop outside the gate for the Stagecoach 35 bus route from Aberdeen to Elgin. We are surrounded by coast and countryside, from the Moray Firth dolphins, harbour seals and otters to the ospreys, capercaillies and, if you are very lucky, the majestic golden eagles. Our local area is home to many mammals including deer and red squirrel.

DARK SKIES AT STRATHLENE HOLIDAY PARK

The night sky over the Moray Firth is a stargazers paradise with dark skies undisturbed by light pollution. Strathlene Holiday park is an hour’s drive from Tomintoul and Glenlivet Dark Sky Park.  If you watch out for the Aurora alert on a clear night, you might just find yourself with a front-row seat to the Northern lights.

BUCKIE (2 Miles)

Buckie is a small fishing town of on the Moray coast. Known for its beautiful scenery, varied wildlife and welcoming community. The high street is host to a variety of shops including bars, cafes and restaurants, supermarkets and corner shops, the butcher and the bakery, gifts, crafts and art shops and much more.

CLUNY HARBOUR

In the past Buckie was the main fishing port of the Moray Firth the harbour is still one of the most active in Scotland and a perfect place to see fishing boats going about their daily business and watch the world by. It has become a popular feature of the town and is the heart of the Buckie and its rich heritage.

STRATHLENE GOLF CLUB

Strathlene golf club wraps around the back of Strathlene Holiday Park, the clubhouse is 1/4 mile away and can be seen from the park. Across the road from the clubhouse is a driving range. The clubhouse is open to non-members and also has quiz nights and entertainment perfect for our guests.

NUMBER 35 BUS ROUTE

There are bus stops heading both east and west available right outside the entrance to the holiday park.

The number 35 bus route from Aberdeen to Elgin is a new bus route that takes in the magnificent coastal scenery of the best of the Moray coast. The bus stops at the park gates and is a convenient way to sightsee the local area! Some popular nearby stops include:

Elgin:

Elgin Cathedral is a historic ruin dating back to the 13th Century. Take a walk on Lady Hill up to the Duke of Gordon’s Monument which was built in honour of George Gordon, a Scottish nobleman, soldier and politician, and admire the incredible panoramic view of Elgin and beyond!

Fochabers:

Fochabers sits on the banks of the River Spey and is world-famous for the soups, jams and jellies from Baxters, a local family-owned and run business. It is a charming village with a rich musical and cultural history. Fochabars is a quiet village but still has many sights to seen and activities to take part in.

Portknockie:

Portknockie is famous for the Bow Fiddle Rock. A fittingly named rock formation resembling a fiddle bow. This is a great place to spot sea birds and is very popular amongst photographers. Around the Square and Church Street there is a variety of shops and places to eat and drink.

Cullen:

The iconic Cullen Burn viaduct leads to Findlater Castle and is perfect for a scenic walk. There is plenty to do and see from water sports and walking to Cullen Skink and Ice Cream to a visit to the Auld Kirk, an ancient church, there is plenty to see and do in Cullen.
